SZABIST, FM 100 Sign MoU To Produce Trained Radio Journalists
ISLAMABAD: Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST) and FM 100 on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for grooming the aspiring journalists in the rapidly flourishing field of broadcast journalism.
The MoU was signed by Wajid Zulqarnain, Head of Media and Communication Studies SZABIST and Khawaja Kamran Chief Executive Officer FM 100 in Islamabad to fill the need for trained and passionate journalists in broadcast journalism.
This MoU signing is prompted by growing and keen desire among the students at SZABIST to acquire modern knowledge and skills related to radio journalism and production something which did not have an exposure to until now.
Under the MoU, SZABIST will introduce a whole new subject on radio journalism to cater the theoretical needs of the students.
While FM 100 will provide them a chance to observe its day to day broadcasting operations and also practically apply during academic studies. By injecting this blend of both theoretical as well as practical knowledge. SZABIST and FM 100 desire to produce most competent and skilled radio journalists.
The MoU will expose the students to a diverse range of radio production including technically and editorially in producing quality documentaries, talk shows, script writing and uphold the true standards of broadcasting.
Students will have access to modern equipment used in radio production and news gathering at FM 100 station.
Both the organizations believe that the real potential of students cannot be exploited unless and until they are made to practically to things that they have been theoretically taught.
The lessons learned during this joint collaboration is likely to pave way for job opportunities for students who have the true zeal to become radio journalists.
